Segezha Packaging Enterprises History

1937—39 Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill was built between 1937 and 1938 to manufacture sack kraft paper, high strength packaging & wrapping paper, as well as paper sacks & bags. The production was started in 1939.
80's During the 80’s the production capacity of the mill reached 1357 mln. paper sacks (17 production lines).
2002 Launch of the new paper sack production line Е-4 with integrated printers. Possibility of printing up to 4 colours on the sack's surface and up to 2 colours on the bottom patch.
Start of production of the industrial sacks for dry building mixes.
2004 Launch of the first cement paper sack production line Е-5.
Installation of the new printing machine with high-speed printing up to 6 colours.
2005 Launch of the new carrier bag production line. The company's entry into the retail paper bags market.
2006 Launch of the new high-speed industrial paper sack production lines Е-6 and E-7.
Installation of the new printing machine.
2007 On 1 July 2007, Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill’s packaging division became an independent legal entity, Segezha Packaging LTD.
2012 Launch of the second cement paper sack production line E-8.
2015 In 2015 Segezha Packaging LTD became a member of the Segezha Group (part of Sistema JSFC).
2015 Launch of the new high-speed paper sack production line Е-9.
Installation of the new printing machine with possibility of printing up to 8 colours
2016 Establishment of the new production plant in Salsk, Russia.
Launch of the industrial paper sack production line C1.
Installation of the new printing machine with possibility of printing up to 8 colours.
1920 The company was established by Wilhelm Ernst in Achern (Germany) to manufacture sacks made of jute.
1924 Production of the first paper sack. Company name changed to “Mittelbadische Papiermanufaktur”.
1964 Establishment of the sencond paper sack factory in Monheim (Germany).
1969 Acquisiton of the two production facilities by Korsnäs Marma AB.
1976 Acquisiton of the third production facility in Freden (Germany)
1996 Company name changed to Korsnäs Wilhelmstal GmbH Papiersackfabriken.
1998 Production from Monheim and Freden transferred to the Achern plant.
2002 Acquisiton of the paper sack producer Niedermayr AG. Further transfer of the production to the plant in Achern.
2005 Launch of the two pinch-bottom paper sack production lines.
2006 JSC Segezha Pulp and Paper takes over the Achern plant.
2007 Company name changed to Segezha Packaging GmbH.
2014 In 2014 Segezha Packaging GmbH became a member of the Segezha Group (part of Sistema JSFC).
1996 Establishment of the company by Isiklar. Start of paper sack production.
2007 Acquisitшon of the company by JSC Segezha Pulp and Paper.
2011 Launch of the second paper sack production line.
2014 In 2014 Segezha Ambalaj Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi became a member of the Segezha Group (part of Sistema JSFC).
2016 Extensive operational restructing and machinery modernization.
1999 Establishement of the company under the name Walkisack S.R.L. (member of UPM Group)
2000 Start of paper sack production.
2000 Acquisiton of the company by Korsnäs Packaging.
2003-2004 Production plant moved to the current location (Ploiesti).
Launch of the second paper sack production line.
2005 Launch of the third paper sack production line.
2006 JSC Segezha Pulp and Paper takes over the Ploiesti plant.
2008 Launch of the fourth paper sack production line.
2009 Installation of the new pre-printing equipment and two reeling machines.

1989 Acquisiton of the paper sack division by UPM. Company name changed to Walki Sack.
2000 Acquisiton of the production facility by Korsnäs Packaging.
2006 JSC Segezha Pulp and Paper takes over the Hoorn plant.
2007 Establishement of the new production plant in Hoorn (Netherlands).

2006 Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill JSC acquires 30% share in Sacchificio Tordera SPA.
2013 Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill JSC takes over the 100% share in Sacchificio Tordera SPA.
2014 In 2014 Sacchificio Tordera SPA became a member of the Segezha Group (part of Sistema JSFC).

1995 Merge of Bates Ventil Sække Co. and DAC Emballage. Company name changed to Bates Emballage A/S.
1997 Korsnäs Packaging A/S takes over Bates Emballage A/S.
1999 Establishement of the new production facility.
2000-2002 Production from factories in Sweden and Finland transferred to the Aalborg plant.
2006 JSC Segezha Pulp and Paper takes over the Aalborg plant.
