| | | | In September Segezha Packaging officially started up a new plant in Zwaag (Holland), located only 25 km from our old plant in Edam. With the new plant we have increased our production output in Holland from 75 to 100 million sacks per year.
The decision to build new premises was made in 2004. Due to a growing demand for paper sacks in the Benelux market we needed to substantially increase our capacity, and as this was not possible in the old facilities we saw this as an opportunity to move to a new more functional, low-cost and convenient location.
Apart from the new buildings we have also upgraded our production with a new sack converting line, so that we now have a total of three full production lines running in Zwaag.
With our expansion and new investments in Holland, we have further strengthened our position as the world’s second largest manufacturer of industrial paper sacks. Our production capacity is currently distributed in ten countries across Europe and Russia from where we produce about 1.3 billon high quality paper sacks per year.
The new set-up in Holland is part of major investment plan focused on improving cost-efficiency, quality, capacity and technical capability in all of Segezha Packaging plants. | | | Date: 10/05/07 | | | | | | | | | | |
