| 1 July 2007, The former Segezha Sack Unit and Korsnäs Packaging operations were rebranded under one name - Segezha Packaging. This a historic moment both for our company and our industry, as one well-known and respected name disappears and a new one i born.
The strength of our new name and brand image reflects the creation of an even stronger supplier of paper sacks on the global market – Segezha Packaging is the world’s 2nd largest paper sack producer, and market leader in a number of the markets and sectors in which we operate.
Also during the creation of Segezha Packaging, our company has been integrated as part of the InvestLesProm Group (ILP), which includes a range of forestry, pulp & paper, fibreboard and paper packaging operations. This group is emerging as a key player in the forest products sector. Being part of ILP ensures that we have a strong owner, who is prepared to support our development in the future. It also guarantees an uninterrupted chain from the forest via the paper production to the conversion into paper sacks. Through ILP, we have direct access to our key raw material - high quality sack paper.
Our sister company, Segezha PPM has also recently announced the rebuilding of a second paper machine, PM9, to produce extensible sack papers. This investment in Segezha PPM is matched by a number of major investments in Segezha Packaging focused on improving the quality, capacity and technical capability in all of our plant.
